The only reason

The only reason I carry my damned camera everywhere I go is because I never want to miss a single moment with you <3

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible, without surrender,
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even to the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons;
they are vexatious to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Hiking and Camping in the Cairn Gorms

Stu and I are going camping on friday. We're heading up to Aviemore for a few days to do some hardcore hiking/camping/biking/geocaching. Trying to get everything in order for going (hate leaving things until last minute) which has so far consisted of making several lists and not actually getting a whole lot that's on the lists done. Hooray for forward planning!

Heading up to Dundee on Tuesday with the Gibbit to purchase a new waterproof jacket and possibly some zip-off trousers. Might even get a cheeky wee fleece. Then we're going to see Inception (because I've heard it's banging).

Drugs are for Losers

One thing that really gets my goat. Drugs. They're for losers & I find it a little sad and pathetic that people need them in order to enjoy life. What the hell happened to getting high on life? It's amazing as it is! People say "oh, but it helps me to relax in social situations, I feel too scared to dance/talk to people etc...without them" - Well my friend, how about feeling the fear and doing it anyway!?
Similar views on excessive consumption of alcohol...they're both toxins and aren't meant to be drunk/taken.

What the heck is the world coming to?

Down

Have been feeling a little down the last few days. Didn't feel in a blogging kind of spirit.
Have, however, discovered a new hobby. It's called Geocaching. Kind of like a "high-tech game of hide and seek" crossed with treasure hunting. Very cool and fun. Particularly good for getting you out and about in the outdoors.

Visitors

Kerry is coming to stay for a couple of days tomorrow! I'm so excited, I haven't seen her since Halloween last year! I don't have any money at the moment so hopefully just have a couple of days chilling out and maybe go for some walks to the beach or something.
Can't wait :)

BBC

Work was better today. The BBC are still staying with us but I am managing to do "stays" a lot quicker. At least it wasn't raining today too. I rather prefer not getting soaked while carting wheelbarrows of linen around.

I have rediscovered interpals, and have been spending the time since I got in perusing the databases for new people to write to. I think I will have a nice cup of tea now (you'll begin to notice this as a regular thing) and put my feet up. Cleaning is hard work actually!!

Oh, I can't wait til I find out when Kerry is coming up. I think she will be coming up for a couple of days during this week :) I haven't seen her since Halloween and I miss her lots. She's one of my best friends but she lives so far away :( I wish my friends lived nearer to me. I get kind of lonely, especially out here in the countryside where it takes like 20 minutes just to drive to Glenrothes! At least the scenery helps lift my spirits.
